Cloud Overview
Pharos Cloud is our remote monitoring, management and control service. Pharos Cloud can refer to both the overall service and the online customer interface.
Site
Pharos Cloud is organised by 'Site'. A Site is a collection of controllers usually grouped by a project. The Site name must be uniquely identifiable and contain the project name and/or company name, and geographical location. Invited users to a Site will have access to controllers and features within their assigned permission, as set by the Site owner.
Site Modes
Construction ![]()
Construction allows you to set up your Cloud Site before a trial or, if you have already had your trial and have a paid subscription, before the subscription begins.
Construction mode has limited functionality. It allows you to commission your controllers to Cloud whilst on site, see basic connection status, and add users to the Site and manage their Permissions and adjust the Site's settings.
Active
Once you are ready to start your trial click 'Activate' in the Settings tab of the Site. After confirming your trial activation the Site will move into Active mode, unlocking all of the features of Pharos Cloud. You'll be able to see the renewal date of your trial in the Settings tab of a Site.
Standby
Once the renewal date has passed the Site will move in Standby mode. This mode has the same functionality as Construction. To move a Site back to Active mode a Cloud subscription plan must be purchased.
Site Owner
A Site Owner is the main contact person of a Site. The Site Owner has administrative rights within a Site to manage users and controllers. Usually the first person to be added to the Site will be the first Owner. The Owner will be able to transfer this Permission to other users. There must be one Owner in each Site.
Networking Guide
Pharos Cloud was built with simple networking requirements in mind though for those who require further details please see our Cloud Networking Guide.
