After a power cycle, Expert Controlwill resume playback with the expected state for the current time, with some exceptions.
Tags: All tags will be restored to the values they held immediately before power was lost.
Missed scheduled tags and events: After restoring tags, Expert Control will run through any scheduled tag changes and scheduled scenes that should have occurred while power was disconnected, and will resume playback so that the system reflects what should be active at the current time.
Note that timeline scenes will resume from the start when power is restored.
What is not restored
Scene selection: Manually-initiated scene selections made using before power loss are not restored after reboot.
Overrides: Colour, intensity, and colour temperature overrides that were set before power loss are not restored after reboot.
If your programming must persist through power loss, consider using tags and scheduled scenes.
Suppress schedule:Expert Control does not remember whether the controller's schedule was suppressed when power was lost - suppress schedule is always disabled when Expert Control reboots.
There could be a variety of reasons for this, and it is easy to update it in Expert to your PC system time, or via the web interface configuration page.
One possible reason for a discrepancy is that early production hardware (Expert Control’s with serial numbers below XXXXX) had an inefficient battery arrangement, and once drained would reset the clock to Jan 1st 1970 on a power cycle. To reduce the impact of the dates that are then returned, we put in place a safety net with v1.0 where the controller will use the datestamp of the installed firmware if its current date is 1970.
